The US State Department's 2026 Investment Climate Statement on Jordan describes the government as committed to attracting FDI under its Economic Modernization Vision, which targets $60 billion of investment and one million jobs over 10 years. The statement also lists incentives in development and free zones that are open equally to foreign-owned firms, including electricity tariff cuts of 25–80% and a three-year 50% subsidy on export container handling at Aqaba port.

The official site for the Jordan–EU Investment Conference 2026 says the event has been rescheduled, and we found no new date. The conference is meant to channel the EU's EUR 3 billion support package into deals in green energy, water, digital infrastructure and critical minerals, so firms targeting those sectors should keep an eye on its timing.

The Department of Statistics reported on 6 October that real GDP grew 3.0% in Q2 2026, up from 2.8% in Q2 2025 and slightly above the 2.83% annual growth recorded for 2025. This supports the IMF's view of a gradual recovery, though growth is still too slow to make a large dent in unemployment.

Jordan's key policy rate reportedly rose 25 basis points, from 5.75% to 6.00%, effective 21 September 2026. This is the first change since the December 2025 cut. The rate had been held at 5.75% at every meeting before this one in 2026. The only source found is a data aggregator, and we could not find the Central Bank of Jordan's own statement, so check the rate with the CBJ before using it in financing assumptions. Because the dinar is pegged to the US dollar, CBJ moves usually follow US policy, and a hike raises the cost of local-currency credit for entrants.

August CPI data, released on 14 September, put year-on-year inflation at 2.66%, slightly below July's 2.70% but still well above the 1.77% average for 2025. Transport prices were the biggest driver at roughly 7% year on year, which matters for logistics-heavy cost bases.

A Jordan News analysis published in early October said the economy's stability and steady growth are not yet showing up in household incomes. It cited official data putting unemployment at 16.1% in Q1 2026. For entrants, this points to a large available labour pool alongside weak consumer purchasing power. The searches found no political or security developments in the window that would change operating conditions.
